Within. is a narrative-based serious game about a teenage girl struggling with self-image, insecurity, and the need for validation in her social media life. This serious game explores mental health issues such as social comparison, identity crisis, and emotional pressure in the social media era. Through interactive storytelling and narrative-driven mini-games inspired by everyday activities, players are invited to step into the character’s perspective, to reflect on how social media interactions can affect mental well-being, personal identity, and the need for external validation, while fostering empathy and awareness toward mental health issues in this digital era.

How to Play

1. WASD to walk.
2. Mouse Left Click/ E/ Space Bar to interact.
3. Follow "Need-To-Do" instruction to make progression.
4. Daily Activities Mini-Games (toothbrush mini game → go to the bathroom (blue door), buy food → go outside (brown door), do make up, change days → go to bed).
5. Phone Interactions (white circle in the upper right corner → to exit the application, receive and send message → Message, post photo → Social Media PictGram, take photo → Camera).

Install Instructions

1. Download the ZIP file from the [Download] button.
2. Right-click → Extract All to unzip the folder.
3. Inside the extracted folder, double-click the exe file (Project-SSG.exe) to start the game.

When you run the game for the first time, Windows might show a “Windows protected your PC” message. This happens because the game is not yet a “known publisher.” It is safe to run.

To run the game:

1. On the warning screen, click “More info”.
2. Then click “Run anyway”.
   
   

Bug Notice
There is bug in the Prologue, in the Message part, please click Message app twice to continue the story.
